AWARD WINNING 3D ANIMATION MAGIC PIANO COMING TO NINTENDO VIDEO

Exclusive Magic Piano, Kirby TV and Star Wars content available for free in 3D, on your Nintendo 3DS™

30th January 2012 - Nintendo 3DS owners will soon be able to view free 3D content from the award winning film and animation production studio, BreakThru Films, when the first in a variety of clips from their upcoming animation, the enchanting Magic Piano, becomes available for free via Nintendo Video from 2nd February. Kirby and Star Wars fans will also be happy to know that they can watch, via Nintendo Video, a specially designed two part 3D Kirby TV episode and also a Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace 3D trailer both available from 2nd February.

The Magic Piano tells the story of Anna, a girl whose father has to leave their native Poland and look for work in London. Anna misses her father terribly and sets out to find him, closely followed by her annoying cousin Chip Chip. While trying to hide from her cousin in a garbage pile, the kids find a broken piano that magically transforms into a flying machine and they are whisked off on an adventure across Europe.

The beautiful short animation has recently been shortlisted to feature at the 2012 Oscars ceremony and Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to get a unique insight into the animation through these stunning short clips that can be received via SpotPass.

The Magic Piano is directed by the renowned Martin Clapp and features a selection of Chopin’s timeless compositions performed by the world famous superstar pianist Lang Lang. Each of the eight clips features an Etude performed by Lang Lang and gives Nintendo 3DS owners an exclusive look into Anna’s tear-jerking story of heartbreak, but on the other hand, great happiness, and also the magical journey that Anna and Chip Chip embark upon. The clips also offer an insight into the incredibly detailed process of creating the animation.

Also on offer are a variety of short animated clips from the World of the Flying Machine including two thoroughly amusing clips titled the “Fat Hamster” and “Papas Boy” all nominated to be on the 2012 Best Short Animation Oscar Longlist. You will also have a chance to watch “Little Postman”, the World’s first painting animation in 3D, which won the award for Best Short 3D Film at the LA 3D film festival.

Nintendo 3DS owners can also look forward to being among the first people to take a glimpse at this iconic Star Wars content in 3D, by downloading the remastered trailer to the upcoming theatrical release Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, which will be coming soon to cinemas in 3D.

"Right back at Ya!" is a two part Kirby TV animation made specially in 3D for Nintendo 3DS. It stars all of your favourite Kirby characters as they battle King Dedede and a giant Lobzilla who have set out to destroy Kirby. The two part episode will be available, via Nintendo Video, from 2nd February 2012.
