Rumour: Sonic Dimensions For Wii U?

SEGA has previously confirmed they are working on a Sonic title for the Wii U, but have said it isn’t simply a port of Generations. Could it be a whole new title altogether?..


TSSZ News has claimed to have the first details on the new Sonic game, whose sources have been proven correct in the past. We probably won’t find out for sure until E3 2012…

•  Sonic Dimensions is a working title

• Takes place right after Generations
   
• Spiritual successor to Sonic Colors
   
• Unclear if it’s a Wii U exclusive
   
• Visual quality in line with Generations
   
• Takes advantage of Wii U’s capabilities
   
• Uses Wii U controller for up to 4-person multiplayer
   
• Touchscreen used to destroy enemies/activate powers
   
• Story involves another time-space continuum shift created by Eggman
   
• This alters Sonic as well as the world
   
• Sonic is split into multiple personalities denoted by colors
   
• Each personality has its own abilities
   
• The main sonic remains blue
   
• This Sonic acts as a core uniting “ghost”
   
• Five other colors: Red, Orange, Purple, Green, Yellow
   
• Red Sonic: causes explosions to open new areas; has slow speed and short jump
   
• Purple Sonic: Move platforms and float, dark attitude
   
• Orange personality compared to Big the Cat; hedgehog is slower than the red Sonic
   
• Yellow Sonic: the fastest Sonic; takes damage easily
   
• Can use only two personalities in-stage
   
• All Sonics may combine and act as an equivalent Super Guide
   
• White Sonic: appears as an option after dying in a stage a certain amount of times
   
• Using this Sonic guarantees the lowest rank at the end of the stage
   
• SEGA working with some Nintendo developers on the project
   
• Sonic Colors staff working on the game as well
   
• Nintendo devs. supposedly helping out to design levels
   
• More surreal levels
   
• Music Plant from Sonic Adventure 2 could be in the game
   
• Eggman’s scheme causes Sonic’s friends and the doctor himself to split apart
   
• battles: Sonic and personalities fight an evil version of Amy Rose (tired of Sonic refusing her advances)
   
• One of Eggman’s personalities is kind-hearted and acts as a guide for Sonic
