EA Sports Season Ticket Launches!

A new online subscription service has been release for EA Sports, currently only on PS3 and Xbox360, but this will probably also happen when the Wii U launches considering EA and Nintendo are working together for the Wii U online service...

With a paid subscription to EA SPORTS Season Ticket, fans will receive the following benefits for the five participating titles:
  • Early Full-Game Digital Access: Three days before a game's scheduled release, fans will be able to download and play the full version of all five participating titles on Xbox 360 and PS3™**. The digitally downloaded game will time out when the game is available at retail and consumers have the option to purchase the same full game on disc at retail. EA SPORTS Season Ticket subscribers can transfer all achievements earned during the three-day download period to the purchased disc, resulting in an early edge over the competition.
  • Discounted Downloadable Content: Subscribers will get a 20-percent discount on all available downloadable content for participating EA SPORTS titles. Downloadable content, which enhances and refreshes the core game experience, includes such items as Ultimate Team packs, accelerator packs and gear upgrades.
  • Free Premium Web Content: Premium web content extends the game experience beyond the console to a web browser. All participating titles will feature premium web content that will be free to EA SPORTS Season Ticket members beginning with the premium Creation Center packs for FIFA Soccer 12. These packs provide a deeper set of customization tools and abilities within Creation Center to build your own teams and tournaments, and will be available to the consumer until the membership to the program has expired.
  • Membership Recognition: Subscribers are easily identifiable with an exclusive membership recognition badge displayed both in-game and on their EASPORTS.com profile.

Nintendo on Wii U Mario

"As it turns out, I have too many ideas at the moment for Mario games on Wii U," said Koizumi. "I'm going to have to start narrowing them down and thinking about which ideas might work well together so that the whole system will be an enjoyable experience rather than a hodgepodge of ideas." Yoshiaki Koizumi

Thats good, as I havent got a clue how to follow the outstanding Galaxy duo. I just hope this means we haven't for a Poltergust/FLUDD like attachment in the shape of a Wii U pad!

Mirror's Edge 2 to use Frostbite 2?

The Official Playstation Magazine is sharing the love again, this time with regards to a sequel to one of the most original games in recent years....

"The Frostbite 2 engine will pave the way for Mirror's Edge to make a free-running return."

The DICE developed original used the same engine as Battlefield 2, and recently EA said that Mirror's Edge was an important franchise for them - Franchises are based on more than one title! Yipee!

More Kingdom Hearts 3D details

“It’s a directionally different system like what’s being introduced in Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which won’t have cutscenes; it’ll be a sort of integration where you can play during the event scene. Along with that, Sora will fight alongside different friends. There’s also a secret movie being prepared, so please look forward to it.” Square Enix's Tetsuya Nomura

More Analyst 3DS price drop discussion

"I don't believe price was an issue at all, it was other factors such as the strength of the software library."

"Mark my words, consumers are always willing to pay a premium price for premium content and the rise of the 99-cent mobile game has done little to disprove my theory,"

EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich

"I think price will help a lot, but software will help even more."

Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter

Senior Game Designer leaves Retro for ID

Mike Wikan, who was one of the original Retro Studios staff members has left the studio and taken up a new role with ID...

A shame, but maybe something beautiful could come out of it.... a Wii U bound ID game!
