Runescape On Nintendo Platforms?

"I think they [Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo] will open up their platforms a bit more, liberate them a bit more. It's just a matter of time. But we're well placed to be on all devices soon so we can have a global community." Mark Gerhard, CEO of Jagex

Sounds like theres a chance Runescape, the free-to-play MMORPG may head to consoles in the future!

Professor Layton 4 US Release Announced

Nintendo of America has announced that Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call will be released for the DS on October 17th and will come packaged with the Brownie Brown developed "Professor Layton's London Life" which is an RPG weighing in around the 100 hour mark! Not too shabby for a freebie!

“As a North American exclusive to the overall Professor Layton and the Last Specter package, a bonus role-playing game called Professor Layton’s London Life™ containing more than 100 hours of additional content will be available to players from the start of the game.”

Technically the game is also available in the Japanese version of Spectre's Call. I can't see why Europe wouldn't get this, the series sells far better in this neck of the woods, and a 100 hour RPG is hardly the way to boost sales in America.

01.net has more from their Nintendo source....

On Iwata...

If we are to believe our source, the chairman of the board, Satoru Iwata, is now in very delicate position, if not on an ejection seat. Iwata is generally appreciated by the staff of the company, many employees worried about his fate. Also according to our source, the fact that he publicly assumed responsibility for a difficult start to the 3DS and voluntarily cut his salary in half may not be enough to save his place in the medium term.

Monolift Soft revealing new title?

Rumours are suggesting that Monolift Soft will be revealing a new title in the next issue of Nintendo Dream. There are only two details so far, that the game with be the third in a series and on the 3DS. Could this be the possible "extremely big" title we heard Nintendo will be announcing on September 13th at their 3DS event?

Silent Hill on 3DS/Wii U?

"3DS, I love. I’m actually really happy with the console. We could do something cool there. Downpour is in 3D, it has that option. Hopefully, if people like that we can explore it more on 3DS. Wii U, I haven’t had a chance to check out yet. I was driving to LA during the press conference and I couldn’t see it at Nintendo’s booth. I heard some things about it. I was in charge of Shattered Memories which was designed for the Wii. I thought we did really cool stuff with motion control, so I’m sure there are some cool things we can do a touch screen in front of you and you can take it with you. Hopefully, in the future I will get a chance to see it and we can come up with some cool stuff for Silent Hill." Tom Hulett, Silent Hill Producer

Ooh! Silent Hill: shattered memories was one of the greatest games on the Wii in my opinion. I wish it had a lot more attention, it definately deserved it!

Aonuma has ideas for Wii U Zelda!

“I really think [having two screens is] one of the most exciting features of the system. Unlike the Nintendo DS, there’s distance between the television and you and your other screen. That really allows for some different interactions, some of which you saw [at E3]. For example, imagine having the contents of Link’s satchel available to you on the screen of your controller, and using elements of the pouch to interact with gameplay on the television."

“With The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, we had the Nunchuck and Wii Remote sort of stand in for the sword and shield that Link carries. But in a game for the Wii U, I can definitely see something like the controller itself becoming the different items that Link is using, allowing you to interact with the game world and with the game items in a very different way.” Eiji Aonuma, Zelda Producer

Zelda: Chalk Art

WOW. That is amazing! I wonder if he is going to enter the Flipnote Zelda competiton?!

EA, "Vita has better chance than 3DS"

“I think that part of the videogame business is tough right now because they have had some significant competition come in that was totally disruptive, and that was the smartphone. I think [Sony has] got a shot because they have some really unique innovation in the control scheme, the technology and the screen. It’s got a lot of social features now so that you can actually communicate with your friends and be social. You can’t ring them up by putting the device up to your ear but in general I think they’ve got most of the capabilities that you’d find in a smart phone, with some unique capabilities that make them stand out. I don’t think they’re quite in the same boat as the 3DS… the 3DS was a really interesting piece of technology but I think there was some confusion over it and the title slate was a little different. I think Vita has a better chance because it has a stronger title slate at launch. PSP’s had a great run in Europe as a device, it seems to have reached a much larger audience here than it did in North America.” EA Labels President Frank Gibeau

Theres no denying the 3DS had a rocky start, but that was purely opinion. The 3DS has outsold the original DS in the same amount of time without having a Christmas period. I think the Vita will do well, but it won't do any better than the current PSP family have done. I'm with the analysts and think portable gamings in a downward spiral.
