Theres been a recent trend for publishers to force gamers picking up games second hand to pay extra for use of the online components. I believe that Nintendo may do the same, considering who they have been building relationships with recently....
EA, THQ, Warner Brothers, Ubisoft all use these codes, users have to register once they first purchase a game to acces their online. If you buy a game second hand you then have to pay extra, as you wouldnt have the original card! What else do these companies have in common?
EA - John Riccitiello appeared on the Nintendo conference stage for the first time. Whilst speaking he talked about how EA and Nintendo have been working together and they great support EA are bringing to Wii U.
THQ - They showed great third party support for the Wii U, actual 'hardcore' games! They worked closely with Nintendo for the introduction of the uDraw tablet.
Warner Brothers - Nintendo announced at E3 they will be publishing Lego City Stories for Wii U and 3DS.
Ubisoft - For the first time ever Nintendo had two round tables at this years E3. The second one featured Ubisoft showing off Ghost Recon Online and Killer Freaks. Ubisoft have been one of the most ardent supporters of Wii/DS and look to follow the same with the Wii U and 3DS.
