While the sales figures for purchasing brand spanking new 3DSs in Japan has slowed by more than half, the sales of used machines have more than doubled. This is purely down to those clever Japanese fans wanting to have their cake and eat it by getting a cheap console with 20 Free games! I don't blame them, I'd do the same!
