Just like Dragon Quest IX before it DQX features a skill point system, and you learn new skills when you get to certain levels. Usually in Dragon Quest games you can change your job at Dharma’s Shrine but in DQX you instead switch at Dharma’s Shrine Branch Office in your home town.
The jobs you can choose from are: Warrior, Mage, Monk, Martial Artist, Thief or Minstrel.
